Staff delivery to the school gate – Message from Support division

As we noticed a few issues related to deliveries have recently occurred, and we just want you aware of the procedure when you order delivery to school:

  • Liushan Road gate can accept the deliveries whole day. This is the main gate we suggest you choose for your delivery.
  • Please avoid sending any deliveries to the Huamu Road gate between 7:30~8:35am during morning student arrival time based on government restrictions for student safety. The guards are expected only for gate supervision, not allowed to accept any delivery at that time.

Lushan Road address in Chinese:

  • Address:上海浦东新区花木路1817号  ( 1817 Huamu Road, Pudong Shanghai)
  • School Name:上海耀中外籍人员子女学校 ( Yew Chung International School Shanghai)

Thanks you all for your hep with this.

Repairs Survey – Winter break

As we are preparing for our Winter break over Christmas and Chinese New Year, we see the opportunity to focus on and detail minor renovations and upgrades that require attention by our Support Division team over the holiday.

We ask that you please take a few moments to detail in the linked survey below areas in your classroom or learning spaces that require attention.

In your survey response, you could include items such as:

  • a corner of a floor in your classroom that needs repair
  • a crack in a wall that requires replastering and painting
  • an electrical socket that no longer works
  • etc…

Please detail your list of repairs / upgrades needed in the following survey by the end of Monday, Dec. 12th:

This is the survey for staff.

STAFF LOUNGE

Two new Wellness books in the libraries, as recommended by Jamie

We have a copy of both these books in both the CP and RP library. Let library staff know if you would like us to save one of them for you.

What Happened to You? by Bruce D. Perry and Oprah Winfrey

Renowned brain development and trauma expert, Dr. Bruce Perry, and Oprah Winfrey, discuss the impact of trauma and adversity and how healing must begin with a shift to asking, “What happened to you?” rather than “What’s wrong with you?”

In conversation throughout the book, the two focus on understanding people, behaviour and ourselves. It’s a subtle but profound shift in our approach to trauma, and it’s one that allows us to understand our past, in order to clear a path to our future.

The Body Keeps the Score, by Bessel Van Der Kolk

Fundamental in understanding how our physical self is connected to all the things we go through and beyond. Fascinating, hard to put down, and filled with powerful case histories. . . . the most important series of breakthroughs in mental health in the last thirty years — Norman Doidge, author of The Brain That Changes Itself.

Christmas DIY Kit Sales for Family Activities

Like every year, Sweet Ever After organizes Christmas sales to accompany the spirit of Christmas and also support Heart to Heart.

If you are interested to purchase and save on the delivery fee, you can order with this poster by December 12 to pick it up from school on December 15.
