Wet Play/Red Air Buddies

As it is the time of year that the air quality tend to get worse, we will implement this system again. The buddy system means non co-teachers help the co-teachers with supervision on days where students are unable to go outside. Please access the attached document to see arrangements.

Wet Play Buddies[3]

Please note the points below:

  • Co-teachers can contact the cover teacher via email to ask for help on wet play/red air days.
  • It would be appreciated if the cover teacher were to be proactive in offering the co-teachers help.
  • Year 1 have 3 buddies between 4 classes – this is because the Y1 Chinese co-teachers all work only with the Y1 class to whom they are attached and so two teachers are always available to each class, even without a buddy.
  • Not all cover teachers are available on all days for all duties.
  • Dorothy is covering for two classes – this should be borne in mind to ensure demands are not excessive.
  • Any problems: please contact John

Chinese Culture and Chinese New Celebration Week – Mark on your calendar

As time is quickly passing, the Chinese department is starting to plan the Chinese Culture and New Year Celebration Week. We will be hosting this event for all our ECE and Primary students in Week 19 from Monday to Friday on January 13 ~ 17th, 2020. It will be a great week of cultural-related activities for students and teachers to experience the joy and excitement of their host country’s culture.

One of the highlights of this event is the Chinese New Year Celebration Night which is at 5:30~8:00 PM Friday January 17th. There are a variety of exciting activities, performances and cultural-related activities will be held and run by all the teachers.

Please remember that this is an important event in the school’s calendar, which very much reflects the YCIS philosophy.  It is an expectation for all teachers to attend, so please mark this date January 17th on your calendar to avoid other plans.

More detailed plan will be sent out later. Thanks!
