Mid-Year Report Guidelines 2021-22

Good Afternoon,
The time has come around for us to start preparing for Mid-Year Reports. Leaders have been asked to add this as an agenda item for the next team meeting.

Please find below the updated instructions and make note of the following points:

  1. Comments: Specialist teachers will be updated with comment expectations soon.
  2. Curriculum statement:  Year level leaders, please work with your team to develop the curriculum statements English, Math, Topic and Chinese. These  will be added to each subject comment box. Please pass them to Jon and Melissa by Week 12 or as soon as they are done.
  3. Before you commence writing your comments, the first step is to ensure that your PS is up-to-date and that you review grades given.
  4. It is also a good time for you to start making notes for student comments.

If you have any questions, please ask your Year Level Leader or Coordinator.

October Primary Progress Reports 2021

Good Afternoon!

Preparation for the October Progress Reports commence this week.

We have attached the Progress Report Instructions outlining expectations and the timeline to support you in completing these reports. There are no changes to the report guidelines and will follow the same format as last year.

Primary Progress Reports October 2021

Please make note of the following points:

  • Specialist and EAL teachers please make note of the deadline for comments to be passed to class teachers.
  • Specialists teachers are asked to share any comments necessary for students as this can provide a good picture of how the child is or is settling in for parents.
  • EAL teachers, please send your comments for EAL students directly to class teachers and they will combine them into the general comments.
  • Moderation of effort marks is also scheduled into the timeline.
  • There are sample comments in the guidance document for teachers to review, however to support our new teachers or those that are new to the year level, I would like to ask teams to please share some comments as examples amongst your teams. This can be organised through the year level leader or comments place in your team folder.

Please can we ask the Year Level Leaders to run through the guidelines in your team meetings this week.

If you have any questions, please let Jon or myself know.

Enjoy the week ahead!

Thanks,

Melissa

ECE & Primary Packing and Moving Documents IMPORTANT

Dear all,

As you know over these next couple of days, our main task is packing up the classrooms. Please see the Room and Usage documents, Furniture  Moving Plan and Staff List to find out where your classroom will be next year.

Please take note of the following important points:

  • It is extremely important that everything is labelled for both Primary RP & CP…desks, chairs, furniture etc.
  • Personal resources must be labelled clearly as we don’t want boxes and materials lost.
  • Place any shared resources carefully in the ERC. Please do not leave them on the floor and place them on the correct shelf.
  • Please note that all rooms will be painted and floors will be polished, so all resources will need to be boxed up.

Boxes and tape are available in the ERC, and you may collect up to 10 per classroom if you haven’t done so already…you may collect more afterwards if necessary. Please print the following bilingual label:

If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks,

Melissa & Jon

End of Year & Leaving Certificates 2021

Dear Co-Teachers,

As last year, we will give an individualised award to every student which celebrates an area they have tried hard or excelled at over the year.

With this in mind, we have prepared the award template. These awards should be shared at class parties in the last week.

You will find the templates for these certificates below (separate templates for RP and CP)

Action points

End of Year Certificates

  • Create a certificate for each student with their name and the reason for their award, by changing the names and reason currently on the template.  You can work with specialists and EAL teachers (if relevant and necessary) to find an appropriate reason. You can use the comments from the specialists for the reports to help you.
  • Make sure you insert both co-teachers’ names at the bottom of the certificate.
  • Please ensure that the reason for the certificate starts with “For….”.
E.G: For always being willing to ask for help when she needs it
  • The reason should be appropriate and reflect something positive they have done or worked at this year. A set of sample reasons is attached for your reference below. Possible Encouragement Award Reasons
  • The reason should not be “jokey”-e.g “For being the biggest chatterbox”. Find something genuine to celebrate.
  • Please give an individualised reason for each student.
  • Once you have typed up your certificates, send a soft copy of them to one of your colleagues to proofread. Please ensure you do not send certificates home with any errors or typos.
  • Class teachers to print themselves.  Please get the nice paper from the office to do so.

Leaving Certificates

  • Students who are leaving at the end of the school year, please can you present to them the Leaving Certificate. This can be presented at the class party or the last Year Level Assembly.
  • We would also like class teachers to please take a photo of children receiving their Leaving Certificate which can be placed on Seesaw for parents to see.

Primary End of Year Task Checklist 2021- IMPORTANT

Morning all,

Coming to the end of the year, there are always a lot of tasks/jobs to complete. To aid you in this process, we have updated  the End of Year Tsk List. Please click on the following link and read through carefully.  We realise that the list is quite lengthy, but hopefully it will be very helpful when packing up. Team Leaders –  please run through this list with your team to ensure all team members are aware of what needs to be completed.

Please take note of the following important points:

  • All teachers will need to pack up their classroom and resources as all rooms will be painted and floors will be polished.
  • Please do not start packing up your room until Thursday July 1st , in the last week.
  • Boxes can be collected from Support Division from Monday, June 28th.
  • Teachers can start to pack away resources that they do not need and place then neatly in the ERC.
  • If there are items in your classroom that needs to be fixed, please email support division directly. If you would like to replace/purchase anything (e.g. whiteboard), please let your year leader/coordinator know.

We are in the process of confirming the movement plan and room allocations. This will come out soon with labels for you to use.

If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to ask Jon or myself!
