Environment Week – Important Information for Teachers:
Environment Week Display:
You will have seen the wonderful Environment Week display by now, we wanted to remind all teachers of a few points:
- Students can stick one fact each on the relevant year level displays
- You have been given a starter pack of cut-out shapes for your class to write the facts on. If you need more you can cut them out of scrap paper in your classrooms
- Make sure students write their name and class on their fact- otherwise they won’t be able to enter the competition
- Only use blu-tak to attach the facts to the displays
- Students can post their facts around the display too- do not cover the animals
- Awards will be given out the week or two after Environment Week, so the display will stay up for longer. Winners will win the display of the animal they wrote the fact for
Animal Free Dress Day:
- Remind students to make their costumes out of recycled and reused items. They can wear clothes they already own which have animal prints, animal pictures, the colour of the animal (e.g. green for a crocodile), furry tops, onesies, animal print pyjamas etc. The key is to not buy anything new!
- Teachers need to collect the 20rmb donation and Student Council will collect the money on the day. All money will go to the Moon Bear Sanctuary in Chengdu.
- If teachers want to add a donation, please add it to the class money and the Environment Committee will send the full amount to the sanctuary.
- A member of the Environment Committee will come around to each class to ask for nominations for the best costumes
- Please also let the committee member know any nominations for students who have worked particularly hard on the environment projects over the week, to get an Environment Certificate
IT Service
Please be informed that there will be no IT service on campus this Friday afternoon as all IT staff will have their regular IT training in GB campus. Thanks for your understanding.
