Art Show – Message from Anita – Important

The Art Show is up and ready for viewers today. We need the help of teachers to remind students of appropriate behavior when visiting the Art Show. Please address this with your class at the beginning of the day. There is to be absolutely no running or playing in the courtyard. The display boards are heavy and if they are knocked into, they could fall and seriously injure anyone on the other side.  Students should also be reminded that they can look at all the artwork, but that they must not touch any of the artwork, especially the items hanging from the ceiling, no matter how tantalizing it is.

There is a special display of shadow portraits that requires some electricity and manipulation. Please do not allow the children to spin the lazy susan.  They can sit and watch while a teacher does it for them.

Students are only allowed to enter the Art Show when there is another teacher present.  Classroom teachers are encouraged to take their students in to view the show.  Students may look around during recess, but they must follow the rules of no running or playing.  Duty teachers will need to be very proactive and tell students who start running/not behaving appropriately that they should go outside to the field.

The courtyard will be closed before 8 AM. This prevents the influx of bus students who like to cut across the courtyard. It will also be closed at 3:10 for the same reason.  Parents who want to view the Art Show can enter through the side doors. Ms. Anita will be present for 30 minutes after school to help supervise.

Thank you and we hope you enjoy the show!
