Environment Week News

Awareness T-shirt Contest: As your students arrive today, please select ONE winner from each class as your best dressed person to raise environmental awareness. Please email your choice to Ann and Anita before lunch time. The students will be awarded their prize at the assembly next week. It’s up to you if you want to name winners tomorrow or not.

Courtyard Ocean Display: Students have one last chance to add a fact on a piece of trash this morning. The environment committee will pick the most original, thought-provoking facts today after school and those prizes will be given at the assembly next week.

Assembly Preparation: Please work with your year leaders to make sure that presenters are ready for the assembly next week. Year group leaders know where to place visual aids to be added to the Master Keynote.

Video for Today: Please watch this Morgan Freeman chill inducing video about ‘Our Future’. I think for the images and message ALL levels can benefit from this! It’s uplifting and makes me want to get out there and make it happen! Please watch! Please show your students!

Environment Assembly

Just a reminder that the environment assembly is cancelled today. It will be tentatively held next Friday, 8.45am, although please do not communicate this with anyone as yet. If the virus has run its course by Monday, then we will announce it to the parent community then.

In terms of the year level assemblies (RP) schedule next week (including 3D’s assembly which needs to be rescheduled), I will confirm later today.

Play Structure – Swings

There was a significant injury yesterday on the swings at the RP campus. Please can duty teachers be extra vigilant on the swings. Please note the guidelines as from today:

  • Please do not let more than 2 children be on the swings at any one time
  • Please ensure children push from one side (not both)
  • Children should not be pushing the swing too high
  • If children continue to disregard these rules, then please remove them from the apparatus.
  • The same rules apply after school as well.
  • Please can class teachers re-enforce this with their classes before morning recess today

If at any time you see anything that looks unsafe, then please ask the children to stop it immediately.

Y6 Character Assembly

6C will present the character assembly today (Patience), P7

IIIP Rehearsals

Please note that throughout today, some children will be taken for a rehearsal (Auditorium) or the upcoming IIIP recital. Nick has already informed teachers of students who will be attending.

Hats

There’s been a few questions with regards to the ‘hat’ policy  during recesses at RP. Just a reminder that if a child does not have a hat on outside, then they should stay in the Courtyard. They should not just remain under the shaded area (as they often do not stay under the shaded area, and it is too difficult to manage). This will help serve as a reminder for children to bring their hats. Please can duty teachers enforce this please, as the sun is now strong.

Best wishes for Colin

All the best for Colin, as he leaves this weekend to join his wife for the birth of their first child. Looking forward to seeing the pictures soon!
