We have had a couple of parent queries about Mathletics.

One thing to remind parents of is the Live Mathletics option. This provides competitive practice of number skills.

However, for this to be effective, you need to close off levels which are too easy. This is especially important for older students. See below for instructions.

Once you have done this, I suggest you show the students – and point out that Live Mathletics has gotten harder (if you hadn’t restricted the levels previously) – this will motivate some students to look again.

Live Mathletics

Please review the minimum levels set for your students when they play Live Mathletics. To find out what kind of questions are asked at each level, please use this document:  Levels of Live Mathletics. Typically Level 1 is for Y1, Level 5 is for Y5 etc. You can vary this based on the ability level of the student, but do check content appropriateness before setting a level which is higher than the Year Level.

To be able to edit the levels, follow the below instructions from the homepage (based on the old interface-let me know if you need help with the new one).

1. Click “Reports.”
