From the Co-Principals

The breadth and depth of learning at each of the locations of YCIS Shanghai Puxi is ever expanding. This last fortnight Year 13 and Year 11 students have been involved in practice examinations or mock exams…  often just referred to as ‘mocks’. This is a chance to see what each student knows and what knowledge, skills and understanding needs to be further developed.  The Year 12s have spent the last two weeks living and learning in various locations in Borneo completing research for future study as well as some community service involving orangutans and sun bears. Puxi Primary is in full musical performance mode after weeks of rehearsal with the last performance of Rock Bottom happening this evening. Year 9 students visited Year 6 classes to share the benefits of “fair trade” researched in Humanities classes and Year 5s shared their research on famous explorers from across the ages. Students in the ECE have been exploring learning with Chef Xia and cooking up a delicious treats and students from Year 7 & Year 8 Puxi Secondary have been reading aloud with ECE children as of Read Aloud Day celebrations.

Next Friday Yale University students who sing on the famous a capella group the Whiffenpoofs will lead students from our choir in workshops and present a 50 minute performance. Interested parents who wish to attend must register with the Puxi School Office: kate.sun@sh.ycef.com
