Yearbook – 1st draft

The first draft of the yearbook has been proofread. We will be coming around to give you your copies. Please note the following:

Carefully look through all the pages returned as there have been 3 proofreaders working on them.
Changes need to be made on the server here: smb://10.3.1.1/Yearbook/Year Book 2016-17/Pages/ USE THIS – 2nd draft. Please do not make changes anywhere else.
Look for pictures that are too dark, they can be either edited on the server or replaced. If you are replacing/adding any pictures, you will need to add them in the links folder too.
Photos need to be clear, please replace with better quality images if they are blurry. Do not have large group of students in small frames.
Cross check your students names. Check for missing students.

All changes need to be completed by the end of the day on Monday 22nd May.

Primary Photos – saving them on the yearbook server

I have created folders on the yearbook server for all school events and class folders here:

smb://10.3.1.1/Yearbook/Year Book 2016-17/Photos

Please note the following:

Please use this as the place to store all photos including class event photos, ASAs, field trips etc. This makes it easier for the office or anybody else to look for photos (and of course – yearbook)
Events photos should be placed in the events folder – for e.g.
- Founder’s Day photos are placed here by Leo – smb://10.3.1.1/Yearbook/YearBook 2016-17/Photos/Founders Day (thanks Leo!)
- charity week is coming up, please place the photos for the events under the charity week folder
You can make sub folders for your specific class events inside your class folder.

Yearbook edits

Photos to be saved on the Yearbook server – Primary

Dear Primary Teachers,

This year we will be saving all the photographs of events and class pictures directly on the yearbook server. This will make it easier when compiling the Yearbook, as well as ensuring that all photos are centrally stored. The network paths are shown below:

RP – smb://10.3.1.1/Yearbook/Year Book 2015-16/Primary/PHOTOS

CP – smb://10.5.1.1/Yearbook/Yearbook 2015-2016/PRIMARY/PHOTOS

Within the photos folder you will see subfolders for all the events that will take place during this school year. You will also find class folders here. If a folder for a particular event has been missed out, please inform Amita.

Please do not create any folders to store photos on teachers pub.

Please remember to take lots of pictures and save them directly on to the yearbook server.

Student and Class Photographs for Primary

Dear Teachers,
Next week all Primary students (and teachers) will have their individual photograph taken as well as the class group photograph. These are for the Yearbook as well as for parents to purchase. These will be take place in the Auditorium at RP (Wed-Fri) and the Library at CP (Mon-Tues). These venues will be closed to students on these days.

Schedule for Photos 2015-16 Teachers’ Copy

Please see the attached schedule and read the notes carefully. It is important that teachers are clear about what uniform is expected on the day. Please also remind your students the day before via the school diary using the example reminder in the attachment.

The parent letter will also be sent home today and a copy is also attached below.

Yearbook update

As discussed during staff meetings, this year the yearbook will be made to look like a mobile device. For this, the 4 sides of the yearbook will be rounded, so the yearbook printer has taken all our indesign files and is editing them to show the borders. He will be giving the edited files in a day or two.

Once we receive them, we will place these files on the yearbook server and inform you of the same. Along the same time we will give you the proofread printout of your page. Thereafter you will be able make the changes on your page along with the feedback that the parents give you regarding their child’s name.
