Sports Day T-Shirts for Printing

Please can class teachers remind their students of the following:

  • Encourage / remind students that they can bring in T-shirts if they would like their team logo printed on it
  • Ensure every shirt has name and class. Do not accept any without these details.
  • If it is not obvious which ‘house’ colour the T-Shirt belongs to, then please ask the student i.e. Lime could be both for the yellow or green house . . . . Have made this mistake before!
  • All shirts clearly marked in bags by this Friday morning April 10, No exceptions !!
  • Teachers are welcome to bring in their T-Shirt too.

CP Sports Notes – Secondary Sports Day

Please note that there the Secondary Sports Day will take place last period today and all day tomorrow. This will mean that the field, track and play structure will be out of bounds this afternoon recess and all day tomorrow. Please could the CP class teachers remind their students of this, and for students to be extra careful not to accidentally encroach onto these areas, in particular the track. All students are very welcome to watch during recess times. Duty teachers – please be extra vigilant that students are careful when near the track.

RP Art Show – Message from Anita

There will be a new feature in this year’s art show at RP. Each display will have specially marked questions for students to try and answer (usually about art history, colour theory or the artistic process). Almost all of them are open-ended or subjective answers so there’s no need for the classroom teachers to understand very much about the artwork.  Each teacher can approach this in whatever way they choose.  For instance, teachers and students could visit each display together and go through the q&a with the kids orally.  Alternatively, students could roam around individually and write down their answers on a blank piece of paper.

We hope that having the questions present will encourage more focused and enriching interaction with the art show (as opposed to running around and simply identifying the pieces they and their friends created, which is what often happens).

Please can each RP class-teacher sign up for a time-slot to take their class during Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. I have placed a sign-up sheet on the whiteboard in the staffroom 401. Please could this be done prior to this Friday.

New Student

Nathan Tang will be starting school today in Year 1D.
